Natasha earned a certification in Modern Journalism through NYU's and RollingStones modern journalism program.
New York University (NYU) faculty, alongside leading journalists from Rolling Stone and other news organizations, help you learn the industry practices and basic skills needed to produce news stories across audio, visual, and digital medium.
Natasha has received over 15 Top Story awards on vocal.media as well as receiving ‘Author of the day’.
Natasha placed second in the Travel Snaps Challenge writing about the exploration of her Latina roots.
Recently, Natasha was awarded a grant to a Writers Residencey in Champagne-Ardenne, France with an acceptance rate of 20 percent and under.
Natasha is currently a freelance journalist for multiple publications reporting local news in various cities of Pinellas County Florida. Natasha has published over a dozen articles and recently wrote her first cover story for the Beach Scene Newspaper in the issue of January, 2025.
Natasha is in the process of publishing her first poetry collection, aiming for a hopeful launch in the upcoming year.
Natasha was coined the nickname "Sunny '' by her father as an infant and has gone by that ever since. She is a native to the Sunshine State of Florida; born and raised in St. Petersburg. She is a passionate writer that sparked at a young age. "The diary of an emo Latina" came about after a series of unexplained illnesses she endured in 2022, leading to a diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder. Natasha is from Puerto Rican and Colombian descent as both of her parents are "New Yorker Boricuas' ' raised in one of the five boroughs of New York- the Bronx.
